Theft in Northwood

On September 24, 2017, the Worth County Sheriff’s Office took a report that a garage located at 407 10th St. N. in Northwood had been broken in to and multiple guns and other items had been taken. Upon investigation, two search warrants were executed on two separate residence in Northwood on September 25, 2017. Upon executing the search warrants, multiple guns and other stolen items were located at these residences. Because of the investigation, 19 year old Jalin Jamaal Davis was arrested and charged with one count of Theft in the 1st Degree, a Class “C” Felony, and two counts of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, both class “D” Felony’s. One 17 and one 15-year-old juvenile males were also arrested in connection with the investigation. The 17- year-old male was charged with Theft in the 1st Degree, a Class “C” Felony, and two counts of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, both class “D” Felony’s. The 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with Theft in the 2nd Degree, a class “D” Felony. Both juveniles were transported to a Youth Juvenile Detention Center to be held. On March 22, 2018, Davis pled guilty to Theft 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony and Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class “D” Felony. Davis was given a Deferred Judgment and placed on probation with the Iowa Department of Correction for 3 to 5 years and all other charges were dismissed. On November 5, 2018, the 17-year-old juvenile pled guilty to Theft in the 1st Degree, a Class “C” Felony, and was given a Deferred Judgment and placed on probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections for 3 to 5 years. All other charges were dismissed. The 15-year-old juvenile charged in the case was placed with Juvenile Court Services.
