Single Vehicle Accident

On July 3, 2018 at approximately 6:30 pm the Worth County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident on Highway 65 and 450th St. When deputy’s arrived they found a blue minivan in the west ditch approximately a quarter mile north of 450th St. The vehicle was northbound on Highway 65 and veered across the southbound lane into the ditch, crossed over 450th St, hit and stop sign and kept going north in the west ditch. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time deputies arrived and suffered significant damage. While deputies were investigating a southbound vehicle passed the scene and a passenger in the vehicle wasrecognized as the registered owner of the vehicle that crashed. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and a passenger, identified as Tylan Debeir admitted to driving the van when it crashed. Debeir was arrested and charged with failure to maintain control, striking fixtures upon a highway and leaving the scene of an accident.

All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
